5 Organizations Dedicated to Helping Veterans
Back to Blog
Celebrate Veterans Day by giving back or connecting a vet in your life to these programs
We are thankful every day for the heroes who have demonstrated their commitment to our nation through service and sacrifice, but today is the perfect day to do more than say thank you. There are many non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting veterans and veterans’ issues. This Veterans Day, we want to spotlight five incredible charities benefitting veterans that we have had the pleasure of partnering with.
We must continue to give back to the servicemen and women who have given so much to us.
Ranger Road
Ranger Road’s mission is to bring veterans together through extraordinary experiences by empowering the transition to the next chapter of their lives. The nonprofit invites veterans with and without disabilities to partner with civilians and engage in activities and programs that have been proven to help veterans handle stress, decrease rates of anxiety and depression and improve overall wellness. These programs include scuba diving, skydiving, mountain biking, mixed martial arts and more. The charity believes the bond and camaraderie created in the military is truly unique, understandable only by those who have served.
You can learn more, donate, volunteer and sign up for veteran activities at

Team Rubicon
Team Rubicon serves communities by mobilizing veterans to continue their service, leveraging their skills and experience to help people prepare, respond and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises. It pairs the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals and technology solutions to provide the greatest service and impact possible. The organization has performed disaster relief work in Haiti, Puerto Rico and Houston.
Through continued service, Team Rubicon seeks to provide our veterans with three things they can lose after leaving the military: a purpose, gained through disaster relief; community, built by serving with others; and identity, from recognizing the impact one individual can make. Give and volunteer at

.
The Honor Foundation
You might recall The Honor Foundation from our
Giving Tuesday partnership
last year, one we will proudly be supporting again on Giving Tuesday this year. The national non-profit offers veterans a three-month executive education program that provides tools and experiences to help transition from the Special Operations Forces community to the next mission in life.
Through three distinct phases, veterans learn to transpose their military-specific skillset to the civilian world while researching potential landing spots and networking in the process. The curriculum focuses on key transitional readiness themes isolated through extensive research and feedback.
You can apply, donate and volunteer at

Mission 22
Mission 22 offers treatment for a variety of common struggles, including post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, mental health issues and substance abuse. It organizes events and builds memorials to create social impact and awareness for these issues. Mission 22 serves combat veterans, those injured in training who therefore could not deploy and victims of military sexual trauma.
Additionally, Mission 22 has an Ambassador volunteer program for people to get involved and educate the public on veteran issues, help get veterans into Mission 22 treatment programs and develop additional support resources in their respective communities. Learn more, donate and volunteer at

.
Veterans Moving Forward
Veterans Moving Forward provides service, emotional support, therapy or skilled companion dogs to veterans with physical and/or mental health challenges – at no cost to the veteran. Their veteran and service dog matching program is based on personality and temperament, the veteran’s specific needs and the dog’s skills. They also help connect the veteran with a local veterinarian to provide follow-up care for the service dog.
VMF’s vision is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our nation’s veterans and increase their safety and independence within their homes and communities. Learn all the ways you can give or apply for a service dog at
